Miracle Recording is a full service recording studio built into an old
wooden Craftsman Home on 34th St. in San Diego, Ca. Miracle uses world class,
timeless Tube, ribbon, condenser and dynamic microphones and tube mic pre's on the
front end then converts with 24 channels of Apogee Converters on the way in and 8 more on the way out.
All of that warm signal gets recorded to the Pro-Tools HD hi resolution digital format.
All of that is run on a Mac with 4 processors and tons of power. It's all synced or clocked together
with an Apogee Big Ben clock. Digital is wonderful and will record anything pristinely. What you send in
is what you’ll get back, so if you send in a bad signal, it will sound bad.
But the opposite is also true. It's on that principal that Miracle has been
designed. Jeff Berkley envisioned using groovy, vibey analog stuff to
record through, then using the best converters to convert that sound to digital.
Mixing the records to sound analog and mastering them in an analog
format has allowed Jeff Berkley to use Miracle Recording to make warm,
furry, vibey CD's that sound timeless and stand up to anything in today's
radio world.
Miracle has also been used to record kids’ records, mix audio for live
DVD's and record jingles and speaking parts for commercials and radio.
